And what exactly are those photos supposed to prove?

Texas has plenty of beautiful natural features such as beaches, hills, etc while California also has many ugly/non-descript places that look like the bottom two photos as well.

+1. My friend's mom just moved here from CA to continue her work at Chevron, not sure on the facts of her living, but I believe she likes Friendswood than Bakersfield. And my uncle is retiring at the end of the month from the city of SF, he told us that retiring and not retiring is the same pay, so he might as well leave his 30+ year job. And my dad's friend just built a computer-related manufacturing company not in the US because other country has a higher price per earning ratio, so he setup in a communist country. And my online gaming buddy was laid off a few months ago from Lucas Arts because of downsizing and funds issue. Also, my neighbor in the subdivision just moved in from CA because of the plates on their cars, I didn't ask them since he is 20 houses down. Unless your in the medical field, or in a firm company like Google (who doesn't uses it?) and maybe Facebook (who doesn't like privacy), you can make it for years and years.

Go visit California and you'll see. Wow, people over there have no reason to visit Texas other than friends/relatives. I am a Texan obsessed with California--there! I admit it!

Let's edit this post. California is a great place to VISIT. That is for sure. It's a terrible place to LIVE. Texas is not as nice to VISIT but a great place to LIVE. Therefore the optimal strategy is to live in TX but visit CA.

It depends on where you live and how much you earn.

I love living here! I just worry about the direction the state is going. This state has been run by fools for far too long

But I am certainly not obsessed with CA either
