Are you using a realtor? In the past we have gotten gifts from our realtors (GC to a restaurant, a plant, etc..
Our realtor is gifting us a fridge and washer/dryer set. We opted to take her gift in monetary form instead so she's going to put that towards closing costs. But the great thing is since we already negotiated that the builder pays all of our closing costs, the realtor's contribution puts the closing amount in the negative (i.e. they OWE us money) so the builder's agent decided to use the contribution to lower the sale price of our home by $4K instead. I just signed the addendum papers yesterday.

I've been so busy moving in and getting situated that I didn't have a chance to come back and do a follow up post on the builder's gift. Darling gifted us a nice bottle of wine and a catering voucher for a dinner party for eight people. We have six months to use the voucher. Our mortgage lender also gifted us a nice personalized self-inking address stamp, the gift, though small, was thoughtful because it was unexpected and has proven to be quite useful. From reading others' posts, I'm glad we got anything!
