Is there any site I can easily search for alternative routes?

I listen to Roula and Ryan in the morning and I'm always listening in and out. There's only so much of that Train song that sounds like salsa, Neyo Let's Go and every Rihanna sound recent a person can handle in gridlock. But I try to catch the traffic check.

But they only mention the huge stuff and I'm coming from the North side so our updates seem to come really late.

I've always wanted to know but there has to be some site where you can easily just search?

I find maps that show me colors but that's not helpful. I know 290 is going to be fire engine red between 6-10 duh, the Loop is red, the feeders are yellow, etc. Give me specifics. I want streets names, stalls, accidents, etc updated like a serial Tweeter on a high every few seconds.

I use the Transtar website, it helps give me the routes not to take. Channel 13 news has been promoting Waze as a traffic companion for your smart phone. I haven't looked into it, but it might give more info.

Why not just assume that every single major road is stuffed jammed stopped and then you'd be right every time. Do you really need a radio show to tell you what you already know? If there was such a thing as you are requesting like telling every single traffic issue in the city, well by the time they were finished, rush hour would be over.

It's the morning show that keeps me in a decent mood driving and they just happen to have a traffic check every like 15 minutes. I don't drive it but all I know is what the crap are the people doing near El Dorado. I need a map because that doesn't right a bell right off but all I know is it sounds way out there and no one can drive. I-10 and 290 are given hell zones but good grief El Dorado sounds like hell Jr.

I'm going to try out the transtar site tomorrow. I'm a little iffy on it though.

transtar is pretty good on estimating a straight run but can it estimate a route realistically? I get on the I-10 at 7:30, the sign says 11mins to the 610, great, that's fine, but it takes another 10mins to get ONTO the 610 once you're there!

NPR has accurate traffic updates every 15 minutes. They use the Transtar cameras so it's real-time. Plus I get my news junkie fix.

I think I like Waze a lot. I was listening to the radio and glanced down and it told me before the radio, and way before the accident marquee (cuz there's not one all over like there should be) about the accident on the Beltway at Gessner *sigh* I was in park until I could move and GTFO off.

But Waze is actually pretty nifty. I like it better than Transtar.
