Hello Folks,

I am currently overseas working for the U.S. Government. My wife and I are seriously thinking about retirement in the Spring/Woodlands, greater Houston area. Obviously I am looking for the best homes for the best prices. I do not care about the schools (no school age children) but taxes and utility costs are a factor.

I am looking for a home in the range of $250-300K. From the web sites my wife and I have been visiting that appears reachable.

I would appreciate any and all information you kind folks in that area are able to provide. Being overseas I can not drive down the road to check things out; only may rely on web sites. Thanks in advance...

There is a highrise in Champions Forest that houses more than a few retirees we know. They seem to like the safety of it, the ease of care and the location. Taxes are not as high as the in the Woodlands.
