I'm relocating from Fort Lauderdale to Houston on January 1, 2013. I've been looking for an apartment that will take a large dog. Most will only take a dog up to 20lbs and the ones I've found online that will take a large dog have terrible reviews on Apartment Reviews, Yelp, etc. My rent budget is a max of $800.

Where can I find an apartment that will take a 52lb 6 year old lab mix & her human?

On a side note, I've seen a bunch of places listed as "all bills paid" which we don't have here. I like the idea of not having to start services as soon as I relocate. Does anyone know if these places are a good idea or is it some sort of trick? There was a place in Bellaire listed for $900 which sounds like a good deal if rent, electric, gas and water are all included at that price.

I have never heard of an all bills paid place being any place you want to live. Maybe someone else will chime in and say I'm wrong. You might have a better shot with a small house or even renting a room or having a roommate, with a big dog. I have big dogs myself and think they are great.

Before you rent, visit the place at all tiems of day and night. Sometimes things are not as they seem, and Texas laws are very pro landlord.
