Tell your kids and your wives to pay their own way. Take them off of your insurance. Don't buy them gas, food or clothes. That's the only way they'll learn responsibility anyway, by your logic. Apparently they can do without HANDOUTS and paying for your kids after they're 18 IS a handout, people. I see handouts from parents and spouses and handouts from the government as exactly the same because they're not literally being back and they're not earned. So in that case, 250K is too much money for 1 person. And your wife needs to work -- that's just lazy. We're all individuals and anyone relying on someone else is a weak link that needs to be destroyed.

That’s not the case with me mate. My wife works and my kids are 6 and 7. And when time comes they will be responsible and earn their way.

But you're onto something. I have a lot of friends who’s kids just got out of college, no jobs, no prospects. They continue getting money from their parents and they voted for Obama because now they have insurance through their parents. Some of those kids explicitly described me the reasoning for their vote. Another group of idiots voting for we know WHO.

All I can tell you this country is going to become a country, of lazy leaches with an expectation of entitlement. Simple as that.

Add to that millions of immigrants with the same expectation of entitlement and this country is going to shi*te

This thread is full of misinformation and talking points. Firstly for those who say 47% of Americans pay no taxes that is flat incorrect. 47% of Americans pay no income taxes. They still pay FICA taxes, sales tax, property tax and many others. Why do they not pay income taxes, well because they do not make enough money to qualify. Man what a scam they are pulling, being poor so they don't have to pay income taxes. The reason that the working poor don't pay income taxes is because of the Earned Income Credit which is a program put into place by well known Communist Ronald Reagan, the reason being that it was easier for the working poor to stop working because after they paid taxes they made less than what they would get on welfare so the government added this incentive to keep them in the workforce, something Republicans used to support before they turned into a bunch of cry babies.

I will grant you MIt and Princeton and Stanford with their technical prowess. But pick a few more like Swathmore, and you might see my point if you open your eyes.

If they all teach math why do our politicians from there have such a challenge putting together a budget or understanding $16 Trillion is a lot of debt with a slow growing economy and $1 Trillion annual deficits?

Polling is kindergarten math and Nate is good at polling. The math I speak of is how the universe behavies or how you drill to a spot the size of an office building under 15k feet of water and 10k feel of ocean bottom 5 miles west of the drilling location.

Because a certain party in this government thinks you can slash taxes across the board, start several wars and not fund them, jack up billions more of military spending, turn surplus into deficit just because...

If he's doing kindergarten math, I'd like to know why nobody else could figure it out. Like, all the Republicans. Where did they go to school? Swarthmore?

Probably went to public schools... but that's a whole 'nother can of worms!

A pox on both red and blue houses. They both get the credit for putting America in the poorhouse and neuter want to take responsibility. Having said that the blues won the presidency. If they continue to support the unions thuggery, pour good money after bad in obamacare/Medicare and support the war against businesses through overregulation and favoritism (cough solar subsidies) then I expect the decline to perpetuate. If they change course on these issues and fight the republican neanderthals where it really counts (reforming Medicare, cutting "offense" spending, and cutting subsidies across the board (not just oil) then I'll applaud them. I doubt that will occur though. Balls in your court dems. Would you mind not dropping it this time around?
