Hiya -

I've never been to a concert at Minute Maid...and this is November with chilly nights. Anyone have any idea if they will close the roof for Paul McCartney's concert Wednesday night? We're trying to figure out how to dress...heavier jacket, say...if they don't close roof, and wondering how warm it will be if they do.

I'm sure I'll be all warm inside anyway -- really looking forward to it!

Any suggestions on best places to park welcome....

Thanks!

They'll most likely close the roof and the acoustics suck. I went to the Madonna concert there a few years back. Had a great time but it sounded horrible. Minute Maid and Reliant were not made for concerts. I always stop at Lucky's first, park, and have some drinks than walk over.

I was at that same Madonna concert and the sound did suck. I won't see another show at minute maid or reliant. It not woth my money. At least McCartney will be singing. Madonna was a lip synced show. I hate spending my money on that even more.

Quite possible. She did say it was more choreography than anything....but she did say the sound/layout sucked.

I've never been to a Rodeo concert and thought it sounded good. Arena's that open and close were not meant for concerts.

All sports arenas suck for sound. Toyota Center is only marginally better, and that's not saying much.

Jones Hall sounds the best IMO, even out of all the music specific venues.

Wife and I saw Eric Clapton at Toyota Center. Sound was "ok". We saw ZZ Top outdoors in Austin a couple of weeks ago and the sound sucked. Jimmy Vaughan, who played before ZZ, sounded clean and clear - perfect. So it's more than just the venue being opened or closed.

I'm hoping Sir Paul is a bit more finicky about his sound. From what I've heard, his band and the sound production is very good. I hope so for what these tickets cost, plus hotel and time driving to and from Houston. Really excited about the show though.

Steve

To answer your question (which nobody else did) the roof will be open, so dress warm.
