Woodlands is campaigning hard for more movies/tv shows to be filmed in the city/township. I like where The Woodlands is heading!

Film commission puts The Woodlands on screen - Houston Chronicle

I really don't see why not. Woodlands is very similar to Pasadena where they film a lot of generic back drops of middle America. And the cost of filming in the Woodlands is probably half the cost.

tin cup was shot in parts in Kingwood. i was being a general badass on my bike and snooping. got to sit around the extras in the stands and stand along the course while they were shooting putting shots. shook kevin costner and don johnson's hands. costner seemed sincerely enthusiastic about meeting me

the dark haired older woman was mean and condescending. rene ruso looked at her like she was a b****

Not really. Texas' tax incentives for films isn't all that great last I checked. That's a big determining factor in where films are shot.

Production companies will often choose Louisiana over Texas for this reason.

Yes all that is true. But I said the Woodlands is cheaper then "Pasadena", not Louisiana.

How is it cheaper than Pasadena?

Cheaper cost of living in Texas does not necessarily affect spending for a film production.

No dude. LOL. The unions. The unions. This is why Hollywood shoots 80% of their stuff in Canada. Cheap labor!!!!!!! And yes, they are hypocrites if you are also wondering that too.

Ah yes good point. Those unions.

Problem over here is our film talent is scattered and skills vary. I guess it's a problem opposite of having unions.

Seriously? APC has one of the largest in the Houston area outside of downtown. They are currently building a 2nd tower about the same height.

When driving up 45, you can see it from 5 to 10 miles away.
