I know how you feel when people warn you about Houston, that' is what is happening to me with this Oklahoma City move. Good luck, don't worry!
Just wanted to say thank you for the positive outlook. Its really nice to hear and I appreciate it that we got back to my original questions instead of talking about road rage Thats the kind of things you want to hear about- the people, places to go etc... and I am getting more excite by the minute!!

What do you mean it's not the prettiest place on Earth? The French Riviera's got nothing on this.

^Houston's like any other city. It's got some absolutely gorgeous parts and some heinously ugly areas. There's more to Houston than freeways and FM 1960-like surface streets. I think I need to whip out my camera.

I think this is why all the transfers end up way out in the burbs. The scenery from the freeways and main drags is terrible. They freak out and claim Houston is the ugliest place on earth and flee 30 miles away in hopes of escaping it. Only to later find the strip malls, chain restaurants, fast food, Brake Checks and traffic is there too.

Driving as little as a 1/4 mile away from these super freeways, the scenery is completely different. It can get far worse, or it can look like a lush forest, with gorgoues old oak trees and green lawns.

Huh? Whatchootalkinbout? All we have here is freeways and billboards. You know that one trip down I-10 is all you need to know about Houston.
