I will most likely start in the Sugarland store but at some point I will open the Woodlands store. I would hope to not move within that time. I see more of what I like in the north and the other stores that my wife and I would work in are at I10 and the Beltway, Galleria Mall and Kirby Rd. So most of my wife's time will be spent much further north and I should not stay working in Sugarland for too long. Hence wanting to live north.

One thing I recommend is going to houstontransstar.org and taking a look at historical average travel times. You can check different routes at different times of day to get a sense of how long it will take. I doubt there are too many people with your working situation to advise you, so this is probably the best source of information for your particular issue.

Sugar Land and the Woodlands - wow, you can't get much farther apart than that. Don't even try 1960/6, it will take you forever. Beltway isn't bad, unless you don't have an EZTag thing - if you don't, um, I wouldn't recommend trying.

If you don't have any children, consider midtown which would keep you centrally located until you know where you will be work - consider leasing until you know where you'll work plus it will give you time to get a feel for the city and where you might like to live long-term.
