I am surprised so many global oil companies locate in the EC with its distance from a major international airport compared to the northern suburbs.

When I sold my home in 77079 in 2010, I was considering renting it but let my realtor talk me out of it.... there is a lesson here !
West lake 1 high rise is 28 stories I believe

Most majors moved out west in 80's when land was cheap (amoco, Arco, Conoco, shell) and aren't going to relocate up to the airport now. And the service companies then cluster around the majors like pilot fish. Then smaller companies relocate out to take advantage of the density. Self perpetuating really.

And selling in 2010 in 77079. That's got to sting.

I believe the first operating energy company in the EC was Exxon Chemicals which moved down from Darien CT to Houston in late 70s, they leased in Galleria area while building their campus in EC.

I got a great price for my home in 2010, but the market has roared past that price and appears headed higher finally for the section in KISD which lagged SBISD section in market up turn. Yes it does sting!

I was not aware of the 7 story luxury apt project near Memorial and Eldridge.

The office projects were all over the place...
1. Bp complex building one new office
2. Several buildings being added to the Shell WestHollow office project north of I10
3 Clearing the corner of I10 and Eldridge (SW corner) making room for up to 2 or 3 new offices.
4. New office in McHaik complex on northside of I10 at Kirkwood
5. Clearing land south of Memorial next to Memorial Thicket of the old ARCO building, making room for what looked like up to 3 offices.
6. West of SH6 on both the south side and north side of I10 frontage road, two new buildings going up.

I have no idea if I spotted all the projects and wonder if others might want to ID projects going on in EC they are aware of by clarifying my list and adding to it as needed.

Thanks!
RE: #6 on the North side of I-10 between Hwy 6 and Barker, the Wood Group are building 2 new offices there I believe and trying to bring all their groups in under one roof. Wood group now includes JP Kenny, MCS Kenny, Mustang, Msi Kenny, Alliance... to name but a few
