Hi all,

We are new to Houston and are in the process of building our new home in Sienna Plantation. With the number of choices available, the task of deciding on one is a bit overwhelming!

We like the plans given by Ashton woods and Pulte Homes. We saw a lot of model homes and we like both these builders. From my research, Ashton Woods has a lot of good standard features.

We also like Highland and Trend Maker. Their homes are so beautiful and most upgrades in other builders are given as standard by these two, so obviously they are very expensive!

Please share your views and experiences with any of these builders, specifically in Sienna. Your inputs will surely help us in making a decision soon.

We are also looking for a good realtor for helping us with negotiations, etc. If anyone has suggestions, please send a message to me with details of realtors who deal with homes in Sienna Plantation.

Any advice for a first time home buyer will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Don't buy Pulte Homes, their quality is bad....I saw the driveway at 1-year built home rusting....

Trendmaker built our home in Sienna Plantation in 2006. We had a great experience during construction and have been very pleased with the home since then. What few issues came up after we closed in it were very promptly addressed during the first year of warranty coverage, even things they didn't have to do were taken care of. We've had really zero issues related to construction or material quality since then.

We loved all the standard features which for other builders are considered upgrades. We found them also to be very flexible with changes to the plan that other builders told us they'd never even discuss...

Can't help specifically with Sienna Plantation but we own a Highland Home and love it. We actually bought a spec/inventory home (though we were originally planning to build) as it had all the upgrades we wanted in the floor plan we wanted.
I think their quality is very good, they were very easy to deal with and we're very happy. We bought in Oct/Nov 2011 in Copper Lakes.
