I have to coment on the trashingof that veterans home. I also was shocked but it can and does happen in mnay places. But it was really nice to see that so many in the communtiy of Houiston step forward to help.It was also nice to hear that the father of at least one of the teens personally apologised for his son's actions.

have not heard of that trashing of a specific veteran's home. guess i need to read the paper more. but you are aware some of those homeless downtown and in mid town that get fed by those pesky businesses are veterans? there is a large veteran drop in center downtown and transitional living center in midtown. all veterans are veterans and deserve equal respect

i dont want the width of westheimer to change. it will hopefully keep the number of cars driving on it to a minium and be less crowded once rail lines and better public transport comes into it. a wide major roadway through there would be ugly and kill the vibe it has

Glad you had fun. A friend, a native new yorker now living back in ny, was in town last week. he used to live here about 25 years ago. U He called me from west gray and said "hey where's my cold, rainy and dreary houston weather? This is California weather! And why does west gray look more like California than houston? I laughed. This is houston now. He said I want my old houston back - if I wanted to visit California I would have gone there. The city has definitely changed through the years, particularly when you see it from someone's eyes who left and came back.
