The woodlands is just the name of a big master planned community.
It is made up of Spring, Tomball, and Conroe for the most part.

300K in the Tomball and south spring parts will get you a very nice home. If you buy in dead smack "WoodLands" , you need half a million or more to get in.

It also depends on what type of community you want, they the established neighborhoods and the brand new construction areas.

If you are going to rent, then it really doesn't matter, you'll start to see what you like most.

Well thanks everyone with your help i signed a six month lease for a apartment , i got a great deal at the meadows in springs ( advertised as woodlands ) just to have a space and check out the are i know apartments are bad but i tried to make sure they are not section 8 apartments.

You want to stay east of I-45. My friend lives in Spring near David Hooks Airport. It's beautiful and she says its affordable. So aim there.

It now costs $500k just to get into a house in the Woodlands now?? 5 years ago, that would have been like $250k. Did property values increase 2x there in 5 years? If so, I see a huge bubble.
