This stings because it's true. I love Houston, and I do miss it. But I needed a break from the soul-sucking traffic of 290, the endless sprawl, and the hopeless auto-dependence. I longed for walkability and density and now I am in such a city. Although I expected to leave for a few years and return, that is not going to happen as the walkable lifestyle surged my quality of life more than expected.
