The Proviseur has always been quite helpful when I've had a question, and it never hurts to go ahead and reach out to the school.

I might have written the website this way: Each day FBS Primary students spend one class period in level-appropriate English L2 instruction and one class period in (alternating) Art, Computer, or PE taught in English. All other instruction is in French.

(With six periods in the day the published percentages hold true but they are a bit misleading used in this way.)

Do the primary level students have a reading curriculum for French, what textbook do they use for that in first and second grades?

International students with French L2 currently utilize the Alex et Zoë series.

French Bilingual Section (FBS) students utilize the Un Monde à Lire series, same as French schools worldwide. Textbooks are dictated by the French Ministry of Education.

Dear AWTY moms,
Don't mean to hijack the post, but what are the most convenient neighborhoods to live for AWTY? Workwise, West U is the best for us, but is West U too far way for kids to commute to AWTY?
Thanks so much!

Just as a followup, a neighborhood like West U would be a great fit for us in terms of budget, feel/look. Diversity is appreciated but we are okay with the level of diversity in West U. Thanks!

Personally, I think the commute from West U to Awty is awful. The 610W Loop is one of the most congested freeways in the city, if not the most, with bumper to bumper traffic jams being the norm even outside of rush hour. There just isn't another convenient and quick north/south route, I'm afraid.

That said, there are many families with children at Awty living in West U. Carpools would definitely be an option, and I believe a bus stop was added onto the Pearland route so there is now bus service to the area. There are plenty of equally legitimate reasons to live in a neighborhood besides convenient access to school, so go for it.

Where is work? Are you interested in other suggestions?

Thanks for the response. Yes, we would love some closer suggestions to AWTY. Work will be at TMC.
