I bet anybody 10 to 1 that if Houston gets an NHL team they already have a contract with Houston Comcast

It would be fun to have new life in the Hockey field.

But the media really needs realize there is life outside the Texans.

Don't get me wrong, i am all kinds of obsessed with the Texans but the other teams need love too.

The Rockets need love.
The Dynamo has been one of the top Soccer teams in the US and you barely hear about their playoff exploits.

I hear about the Stros a lot, but its usually about how bad they are.

As for the Aeros, I cant remember when last i saw a news clip about them.

In the latter days of the WNBA it was just the same. No mention at all.

when a Texan farts we hear about it. The Dynamo wins a trophy and barely a peep from the local news.

How are locals supposed to get motivated to get involved if the media doesn't prod us?

I honestly don't care if they're gone. Hockey is about as fun as soccer to watch and I'd rather just sit down for 2 hours and have a long conversation with my mother in law.

Next thing you are gonna tell us that people in Houston don't know that the Houston Dynamo just tied the home undefeated record of 34 games and with a win on Sunday will have the record for the longest home undefeated streak in the league's history.
Add to that, they are undefeated in their new stadium (second season in it)

Minutes after the Dynamo made history, coach Dominic Kinnear practically dismissed the significance of the MLS record 34-game home unbeaten streak his team tied Saturday night.

Aeros may not get much coverage but they do a good job playing at the level their at. I think the Wild want to move them closer to St. Paul...much like the Astros have the minor league teams in Corpus and OKC.

Well there goes my hope for a hockey team when I move.... Couldnt expect them to stay with a $30,000 additional price tag!

The Houston Aeros are moving to Iowa.
In a vote approved by the American Hockey League’s Board of Governors, the Wild’s AHL affiliate will be playing in Des Moines, Iowa next season.
The team will be renamed the Iowa Wild. It’s home rink will be the Wells Fargo Arena.
According to the Pioneer Press, the current home of the Aeros, the Toyota Center in Houston, decided it could make more money hosting concerts and other events rather than minor league hockey.
The new arena in Des Moines will charge the Wild $10,000 per game rent. It’s a major reduction from the $24,000 per game the Aeros were paying in Houston. To stay in Houston, the Toyota Center was asking the Aeros to increase it’s per game rent to $42,000.
