The next AstroWorld? It's full speed ahead for new Houston theme pa... - 2013-Apr-09 - CultureMap Houston

It seems to be Hee haw meets Astroworld. Things like this give Texas a bad image. Everywhere I travel people think that everyone in Texas is a cowboy. Why can't they build a nice normal amusement park. I wish they would do some sort of Seaworld. I would actually go there.

I can't find anything remotely appealing about such a theme park. So, doubt I would go.

"We're not going to compete with Disneyland. We want to create an entertainment value that's similar to going to the movies or going bowling."

Sounds incredibly boring.

They should go with the Abandoned-theme-park theme. That way people won´t despise it so much when it goes under.

Arn't y'all knocking this a bit too early? I know I'm the minority here, but I absolutely love Texas and Houston history, and this historic Texas themed park is something that I'd like to see. I'm not a fan of cow milking, but the stunt shows and horseback riding is flipping sweet, IMO. A venue that looks and feels like the wild west gets me pretty excited.
