Hi forum... I'm planning a relocation to Houston from NY in June - It's kind of a rush, so before securing an apartment, I've decided to stay at a Extended Stay Hotel for a couple of weeks. Can anyone advise which locale/neighborhood is best (or what to steer clear of? or suggest an alternative (inexpensive, but not crap) hotel with a kitchenette (under $90/day)?

Stay at the one by Greenway plaza. Traffic will be tough. When I re-moved here I stayed in one on I-10 near Kirkwood.

My choice would be Galleria, Greenway then Westheimer/Sam Houston. Safest is going to be Greenway Plaza because the Galleria Mall is an attraction to thieves. And Westheimer/2424 W. Sam Houston isn't that safe. I put Galleria only a slight edge over GW because hotels in the area are usually well kept, also very close to places to eat, or shop.

Extended Stayer . You pretty much tell them your iteniary and they get hotels to bid your stay for free.
