Hi all i need some help here. My girlfriend and I signed a contract with DR Horton for a new home to be built in Cinco Ranch Summer Sage neighborhood. I have visited the neighborhood a few times and liked it. We have no kids yet but plan in the future so we wanted a community that is ideal for families. I need help deciding on utilities. What are the best companies to go with as internet providers, home phone, satellite...? Also any advise on what to look out for when building a first home. Our home will be complete around Jan of 2008 and we are moving from NW Indiana. Thank You in advance Bo.

Default Utilities etc

To be honest, and I am sure I will stand corrected, but my understanding is that in the Cinco/Grand Lakes area, cable and internet is Comcast, or Comcast, there is also only one gas utility provider, you do have achoice for electric and Reliant is the most expensive, but then so are some of the others, and phone perhaps AT & T

Stand corrected

in cinco, my phone and internet are Consolidated, my tv is Dish, I chose my electric provider from powertochoose.org (not Reliant) and my gas is Centerpoint.

There is also Entouch out here. From what I understand they offer phone and internet (and tv?) as well
