Except you can't live in mutual fund.

Are you telling me that all the areas of Houston have the same appeal, thus would have the same "hot" market? As a real estate agent, surely you jest.
That's not at all what I was saying. I was responding to the poster who claimed that buyer's are somehow creating a false market by only looking at one area. The reality is that desirable areas are selling quickly right now. If you want to want an area that isn't selling well, you'll have to make some pretty big compromises or take on some risk in a transitional area.

There are a lot of out of town buyers coming in. Combine this with low interest rates and a record low inventory level. Also, developed land is scarce.

Patience. Honestly we were surprised that we got it. Took almost 2 months. We even started looking at other areas like Jersey Village, but we got what we wanted. This house needs some work but that just leaves room to customize it the way we want.

Congratulations Oskar! This is an area that should continue to appreciate. Wise choice! All the data points to continued job growth in Houston and a shortage of developed land.

Congrats Oskar. We closed on ours last Friday. I wish I could say we got it because more stuff came on the market. Rather, we ended up outbidding everyone else by offering $50K above list. I had to pull the trigger because we were nearing the 12 month mark of our relocation plan. Policy said we had to be under contract within 12 months of starting the relo. Anyway, congrats again.
