Hello,

I have a job interview at a dental clinic in Baytown Therefore, I will be potentially living in Houston if I get accepted and take the job. I want to drive through the Houston area and get a sense where I can live as a young single professional male. Any district do you locals recommend? Thank you

What's your budget? Baytown is about 25 miles away from our downtown heading east, which tends to be a bit more underdeveloped than our city's west side. You'd want to be as close to I-10 as possible, try looking at the Heights, East Downtown, or Washington Ave area. Those areas aren't cheap though.

I will be earning 6 figures and I am paying $1400 to share with one roommate in new york. So, I can afford $1400 for a studio.

These are new, but are on lower Washington. Still a long commute to Baytown...but it opposite of traffic.

You can get more than a studio for $1400 out here. Depending on where in the loop, you can upgrade to a one bedroom

You'll definitely get a lot more for your money here, especially if you're making six figures.

Oildog's suggestion is a good one.

This list should work:

Heights
Washington Ave
Downtown
East Downtown
Midtown

Stay close to I-10 as you can. They're all hotspots in their own right and they're also adjacent to each other, so you can't really go wrong with any of them.
