I go to UT and the majority of Nigerians from Houston that I see are Igbo, so that's why I'm wondering. It's interesting because all along the east coast, there are considerably more Yorubas than Igbos.

Well in the U.S. its best to try and get along rather than bringing separatist attitudes with you. We don't live by tribal values or laws.

I've worked with a couple of Igbos. They were both hard working, intelligent, and had a great attitude.

I don't know anything about Yorubas as I have never encountered them (that I know of).

Well I was born and raised in the U.S. and I'm not "bringing separatist attitudes" with me. I was simply asking a question.

Yes, this is true. Igbos are dope still.

These Nigerian threads are hilarious. Do you really think there are enough Nigerians on this forum to ask so many Nigerian specific questions? What the heck is a Igbo anyway? Sounds like a Native American musical instrument.

I agree with Texas7. This is not the venue to ask these questions. I'm a citizen (born in the US) married to a Nigerian. I'm very familiar with the culture and separatization of tribes. This is something I do not agree with and hope one day this separation would end. From the outside looking in, we do not see Igbo, Yourabi or Hauser. We see Nigerians. And before you ask, I'm an Ogoni.

Yes, I believe there are. I've gotten responses from other Nigerians in my other "Nigerian threads." Igbo is one of the tribes we have in Nigeria.

Correction: it's Yoruba and Hausa. I'm from the Yoruba tribe yet I have friends from both the Igbo and Edo tribes. What's the problem? And the fact that I'm Yoruba and my friend is Igbo doesn't mean anything. It doesn't separate us in any way. All it means is that we come from different lineages. We are still both Nigerians. We are still both Africans. Why do you people assume I'm coming with some tribalist nonsense? I have friends from all races. We aren't "separated" just because we have different color skin and different cultures. Please, spare me this accusation of "separatist" rubbish. Don't even go there.
