Now let's compare it to converting the dome into a parking garage. The dome could be left in tact thereby preserving it. It will generate revenue with events at reliant. Astroworld can be developed into entertainment venue/housing/parking.

At the end of the article they basically said the other ideas were not going to happen. I smell a parking lot coming in our future.
Man did you see the picture of the "New Dome experience" on the front page of the Chronicle today? Man how cool is that? New windows, new siding, new roof, new landscaping outside, new flooring and a open concept floor plan inside. WOW, I felt like it was on an episode of House Hunters on HGTV

Also Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, called this proposal "outstanding" and would make Houston and Harris County "The event capital of the WORLD!"

Oh I'm feeling real good about the Dome being there/here, for at least the next 30 years or so

Yeah, Earthquest Adventures looked great too.
I'd support it but I am a native. Too many people around here aren't, don't have those memories of that giant scoreboard and could care less about the place. Also since this will be a bond issue, the people who pay copious property taxes (i.e. the ones who actually vote on election day) may have some reserverations about this.

Yep, I looked at it. It looks cool. I don't know if it gives me chills like it is giving you. I think the layout will be poor. The problem with something that is not purpose built. It will be expensive to heat and cool. I still think this thing will lose money after we pour 200 million dollars into it. I would rather put the money towards other things. I guess we will find out how the rest of the city feels when it comes to a vote for the bonds.

They have created quite the little win /win for themsleves the sport convention has..if it passes and it gets a the vote, they get a remodeled building from the tax payers, they they can still control.. if it fails they get the extra space they wanted.. So they rejected al other 19 propolses and ended up going with their own plan.. nothing stinks about this no sir.

here is the kicker they claimed they rejected the other 19 beacuse they failed to show how they would pay for it, then go a present a plan of their own with no intel on how they would pay for it !!!

Yeah, this is a shamocracy! I'm wondering if people presenting other plans were even told the guidelines. This is why people generally can't stand politics. It's always a win-win for special interest and the public is forced to choose between two inadequateoptions.

That's how politics work
30 years from now they are going to be out of town with their pockets full of money saying that only 5% of the dome has been paid for...... Where have I heard that before?

That means it's probably coming Down. Rodeo/Texans get what they want after-all.
