Hey,
I know I've seen a million threads on here about people needing moving advice, but i can't find much information on my specific question, so i'm hoping someone can help. My husband and i are both from Houston area, but have been in Austin for the past few years. Before we moved out of Houston we lived off West Dallas in the Montrose area and LOVED it. But prices for the once affordable apartment where we lived is now out of our price range. My husband has taken a teaching job basically at 10 and 45 and we'd like to be within 5-10 miles of his job. I lived in the heights about 6-7 years ago and also loved that area. Our budget would be max 1400 for a two bedroom but preferably not over 1200. So my question is this- there are a lot of older apartments in heights and timbergrove area that are what i would call cheap. Specifically Oaks of Timbergrove and Woodside Village to name a few. Are these apartments just inexpensive because they're old with few amenities. Or are they unsafe? I can deal with old but not unsafe. If someone knows anything about these or others in the area i would greatly appreciate any insight Thanks!
