I saw the following spider on my wall and spritzed it with Raid:

Is this a brown recluse spider or have I accidentally knocked off one of those harmless (to humans) spiders? This specimen, including outstretched legs, measured about 1/2-3/4 inch.

You need to flip it over so we can see it's back. But, it's probably not.

I think they have a 'fiddle' kind of marking on the back.

The picture is blocked on my work computer...I hope its not bug porn.

Fiddle is a black widow.

Correct. A red hour glass on a black spider is most likely a black widow (the only spider that gives me the hebegeebees).

The brown recluse has the fiddle.

My bet is that when you flip him over, you'll see that fiddle.

Default Wolf?

If the back has dark strips, it is a racing bug.

Just kidding. If it has dark stripes, it most likely is a wolf spider, harmless.
