Hi,

Can anyone recommend a rheumatologist in The Woodlands or surrounding area? (Anywhere that is a reasonable commute). I need to arrange an appointment ASAP so that as soon as we arrive in Houston I can get my prescriptions sorted out. We are relocating from Europe and I can't bring several months worth of meds with me to see me through until I find a Dr (I can only get a 1 month supply at a time here).

Thanks very much!

Another Dr question here. This is not the best place to ask for Dr questions. To be honest if you already know your stuff. You can see any rheumy in the area. Mine is in Bellaire which is not close. Humira is awesome!

Thanks for your response Schumacher713. Unfortunately I know nobody in Houston so this is my only place to ask Dr questions relavent to Houston at the moment. I had a very poor experience with a rheumatologist here in Europe so I'm really not wanting to just see anyone if I can help it

Houston has some of the best specialists in the country and I agree you should not just see anyone. I don't know of any in the Woodlands but whatever dr. you select, I would at least check them out on the Texas Medical Board Web site for any disciplinary actions, suspensions etc. When you have one you are interested in, look them up here: Look Up a Licensee

I also look at what hospital affiliations they have - if they are only with the lesser hospitals - I wouldn't use them. They need to be affiliated with the top hospitals in the Houston area which are: Methodist, St. Lukes or Memorial Hermann.

My family and several friends use the Northwest Diagnostic Clinic, 281 440 5300. They have several Rheumatologists on staff at their Woodlands office. I have never needed that service, but all of the other drs. are great. Google them. They have education and experience on their site.

Welcome to Houston.
