I am going to relocate to Houston and work in 77040 and I am looking for a one-bed room apartment. Safety is the major concern and also would like to live close to where I work.
Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

Don't know how much rent you can afford but Jersey Village is a decent area to live in and close to your work. Hire an apt realtor, their service is free to you, the apts pay them their commission.

Jersey Village is out for $800/month probably. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find any apartment in a "desirable" location for less than $1000/month. Such are the woes of living in one of the largest cities in the country.

There are a few nice complexes in Jersey Village that would match that budget. The Trails at Corinthian Creek would put you real close to that.
