Hi all, I moved to Houston last July, so have experienced one summer season here. My fiance and I have a townhouse inside the loop (near Washington Ave & Yale), which works fine at the moment except there is no yard and definitely no pool. Are there any neighborhood pools we could join?

We'd be willing to pay for monthly membership or day pass at a neighborhood pool or even at a hotel or spa, but so far I haven't come across many options. The only option I've come across is YMCA pools but haven't been able to figure out if any are close to us and not sure how crowded they get on weekends.

For those of you more experienced with the area, are there any options that you might be able to suggest? I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks!

Nice clean community pool with great view of downtown...right on the opposite side of I10 from Target on Sawyer. I live in the Heights and love it there.

Lots of times you can go to random apartment complexes pools. Especially, quiet ones that are not big party pools. Just follow in a car and park. It is pretty easy.

please don't just follow someone into a random apartment complex. either find a public pool or another option is the pool at a gym (you'll need a membership of course)...chances are the gym pools will be indoors though, if that doesn't bother you.

another option could be to go to Schlitterbahn in Galveston or Splashtown in Spring for the day. that's two waterparks in less than an hour drive of your location.

Yeah, but i figured it's still another option.....it's better advice than following someone into their apartment complex to use their pool.....
