Maybe I'm missing something here, but does the city own that land? I haven't been to Houston in awhile, and while I did always enjoy the "Waterwall", why don't they do something to the land ("park") it's sitting on? Unless things have changed, I only remember some benches and trees..... Why don't they plant flowers or add some other things that are pleasing to the eye? If I recall, it's a decent size (they could at least add some small sculptures, improve the grass or something).

It is a privately owned part of the tower.

Everything here is privately owned thus eliminating public feedback which is why this city will never be Chicago (now end that other thread, please).

Which means things probably run more efficiently than Chicago.

Actually y'all are wrong; the Uptown TIRZ purchased the property a couple years ago from the private owner, so it is now publicly owned; since TIRZs are actually a part of the City, it will at some point become listed as City property.

Thanks for the info!
I just hope the cty will eventually improve the look of that land a bit. The Waterwall is so pretty (and the trees close to it are, too) but as you move closer to the mall, the grass gets weedy and there's also patches of missing grass, ect. (unless that's changed since I last saw it). I'm not saying it looks totally atrocious, but, please! The Waterwall is an H-Town landmark and deserves a bit better, don't you think?

Everytime I try to go to the water wall, it's either closed or the water isn't running What's up with it?

For real?
I never remember it being closed / not running... during the summer, anyway.

Have you gone recently? I passed by last week and the water wasn't running. I'm wondering if the construction they've been doing across the street (they're building new condos or something) has anything to do with it.
