Denver. That sucks for you. Get ready for snow from October through May (we had a major blizzard at the end of May this year), no real spring season. Straight from snow to 100 degrees. The whole "mountains as a backdrop" thing...they really aren't a backdrop as you can kind of see them. They look more like hills from Denver. Oh and all the mountains do is raise the cost of housing. You may be in shock as to what you can get for your money in Denver compared to Houston. Let's just say $200K will get you a 1200 sq ft, 2 bed, 2 bath in not that great of a neighborhood here.

Driving...good luck. Denver drivers aren't just terrible in the snow, but also the rain, sun, night. Plow crews only seem to come out after the storm has passed. So when we do get a ton of snow, be prepared to be drive snow packed roads for days. Traffic is a mess. But from what I've heard, you're used to it in Houston.

I mention all of this because I am leaving Denver and moving to Houston next year. I cannot wait to leave this place.

Besides what I just mentioned, let me know if you have any questions about areas here in Denver, good, bad, etc. I've lived here for 6 years now.
