My mom is coming to visit me for a few weeks in Houston for the first time and I'm trying to think of places to take her.
I was thinking about taking her to a Saint Arnold Brewery tour, but I can only take her on Saturday.

Now... how early do I have to get there to make sure that we are not left out.

If you want to ensure you get a seat at one of the tables, get there before 10:30 a.m. Otherwise you can bring folding chairs or a picnic blanket and make a picnic out of it, since you're allowed to bring food.

If you're only there for the tour (and not to drink yourself silly so early in the day) then showing up at around 11 a.m. for the noon tour should be fine.

Make sure you go as early as you can, because if you get caught in the line it takes forever and there is practically no shade. Bring an umbrella for your mom just in case.

I usually show up later and have no problem. I would go to No Label though.

Are you talking about a line to get in? I have never seen a line to get in the place.

get there at least 30 min early to catch a seat at one of the picnic benches. or at least bring folding chairs...expect to still be in a long line to actually get beer too....i haven't been to saint arnold on a saturday in quite a while, because it gets so packed. i prefer weekdays.... maybe you can try Karbach, No Label (katy), Southern Star (conroe). i would suggest Buffalo Bayou Brewing also, but i think you have to buy your tickets in advance online...

How is Southern Star (Conroe) compared to Saint Arnold?

southern star is a lot less packed...but also a lot smaller. they only have a couple of picnic tables inside with a few chairs....so definitely take a folding chair. a lot of people tend to hang out outside. southern star is also FREE. they give you 3 or 4 tokens (cant remember) and a plastic cup....but you can buy a pint glass for like $6 or $7, and they'll fill that up instead. and yes, they'll FILL it up. they also have a food truck parked outside as well....
