I heard from the rumor mill that our IT department will be outsource in the very near future. Instead of finding another IT/computer job, i am thinking about doing something non-computer and looking for suggestion. Having about $100~$150K to invest, I am looking for suggestion on franchise or some kind of business to start up that is not too hard to handle. Thanks.

They used to have KK in Houston. I think the majority of the people in Texas prefer Shipleys. Like how people in NY prefer DD (Dunkin Donuts).

According to this article they are expanding back in Texas (DFW) so somebody still likes them.

WEBSITE: More Krispy Kreme doughnuts coming to D-FW, but not at Kroger | Dallasnews.com - News for Dallas, Texas - The Dallas Morning News

and according to the site in my previous post they are looking into the Houston, Chicago, New York, and Pennsylvania markets

I would love to start this but just can't afford it. From their website:

"The initial investment to begin operation ranges from $928,000 to $1,883,250 for a Krispy Kreme Factory Store"

If I could open any franchise, money not being an object, I would open either Chick-fil-A or Sweet Tomatoes. Those two places are always crowded, regardless of day or time. Well, except Sunday for Chick-fil-A.
