A few days old but here it is:

The Crown Plaza Hotel in the Texas Medical Center was imploded this past Sunday to make way for the Texas Childrens Hospital's expansion.

View when we first arrived at approximately 6:00 a.m.

The fourth video is of the aftermaft. We got out of there fast because of the dust. I picked up my water bottle and put it in my mouth because I was holding my camera and video camera. You can hear me talking like a idiot:

The dust got into my eyes and contacts. I drove home teary eyed.

This was a blast. Hope you enjoyed the pics and videos.

Adios

Pretty cool. All they needed was a fire works display and they could have rivaled the implosion of the New Frontier Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas which just happened.

Was VERY sad to see the Frontier go as well. Seems Las Vegas is the only city worse than Houston in being hell-bent on removing anything from the past (not referring to the Crown Plaza, lol).

Great pics and video RGV! Awesome.

I just heard on Fox News that the police are searching the rumble on the Crown Plaza with the possibility that someone might have been in the building when it was imploded. What are they saying in Houston?

Same thing. The cadavre-sniffing dogs are still in there.

The video doesn't actualy show a person, it shows a door near the pool close after the first of the bombs went off. Most folks figure that the door closing is the result of the building starting to shift or air pressure. Never hurts to be careful though. It also a good practical exercise for the rescue teams involved. I really hope they do not find anything.
