I am looking to purchase in the Lawndale Wayside area, specifically in Mason Park, and am curious if anyone knows of any retail, or other, developments in the area. It is really pretty by the bayou and park but would like to see if anyone knows of retail establishments, etc. that may be popping up. Thanks!!

You won't see many developments in that area. Those neighborhoods have remained relatively unchanged for quite for some time. Try to buy around Lawndale and 75th because that's the best area by Mason Park. Personally I wouldn't buy on the other side of the bayou. Idylwood is a nice area too which is right by Wayside but will cost more.

Don't know of any new or redevelopment at the corner of Lawndale and 75th but there is a new Walmart under construction at Wayside and I-45, which is close by.

Heh. I grew up in that area. You're catching it at a relatively good time. When I moved away back in '96, the neighborhood was a dump. Now, it looks like a relatively happenin' place in comparison, though, I am ticked that the CiCi's there on 75th closed down. Where else could I go on a whim and indulge in something as filthy good as that cheese bread?

All the big development is by Gulfgate.
