I've been offered a contract position. However this job does not provide benefits. Right now my kids and myself are covered under my current employer's insurance. If we all move to my wife's insurance the monthly cost will be around $900 to $1,000. This policy leaves a lot to be desired.

I'm wondering if there are more cost effective options out there. Do any of you know of a good website/company/broker to get quotes on health insurance?

Thank you for your advise.

ehealthinsurance.com
I would also advise waiting until after Oct 1 to get a quote b/c it's all going to change and some companies are not even giving a quote when I checked in August. Everything is going up, just a question of how much?

I second ehealthinsurance.com you can see quotes from all the main providers on there. I am self employed and have a $1500 deductible policy from BCBS. I pay $700 a month for me the wife and 1 kid.
