This list is apparently obsolete and there is plenty of vitriol within her own community against her. Is this list relevant or should I turn to the Houston Press? Nothing more disappointing than taking this list, doing the crawl and finding mediocre restaurants among some that are completely gone......

Nope she is not relevant. Just a self important, frumpy hag.

I think it's a good comprehensive list. Obviously everyone in Houston is not going to agree with every single restaurant. Please feel free to point us to a better top 100 restaurant list in Houston.

Restaurants are so vastly diverse in Houston it's hard to do apple to apple comparison. How do you compare a $$$$$ fusion restaurant vs a hole in the wall Mexican diner? It's like making a list of the '100 best homes in Houston'. She should either call it "MY favorite 100 restaurants", because that's as much credibility as it has, or have smaller lists of restaurants that are more compareable. Ie, Top 10 Italian Restaurants, Top Cheap Eats, etc.
But I feel bad for her. As the adage says, "Nobody Likes a Critic", right?

I never disagreed with her reviews of restaurants. The list came out awhile ago. Maybe do the crawl (thats a lot of eating) earlier? The list is diverse for a reason. Some of the smaller places may close down and chefs dont always stay at a restaurant because you want them to. The most renowed ones are still open

It can be lonely to be a critic, but I have never found her to be condescending like so many others.

So, have YOU actually met her?

I have, and give your statement no credibility whatsoever.

I have seen her list. It is pretty solid. I am sorry it left off Denny's. You can make up your own list though.
