I'm curious to know about the area of Southeast Houston around the intersection of Martin Luther King and Airport Blvd. Those houses my daughter likes around there look not so bad. The area looks not so bad either. - but I don't live there. Do you have any general comments about the area?

Any streets with an intersection named MLK and Airport is going to be bad. That isn't a area I want to live around.

mind your business...your fine...a nice area over there is Hillwood off of Cullen and Orem

Your in HISD so you can go anywhere and your by everything in 15 minutes...there's a reason they're slapping townhomes in every lot in areas people once considered undesirable

Don't do it. It's not a nice area. My uncle bought a brand new house in that area a few years ago. He sold it at a loss after being burglarized not 1, not 2, not 3, but 5 times! He was born and raised in that area when the local high school was still mostly caucasian (I'm saying this for a time reference) and had delusional dreams of returning to the old neighborhood and things being like they were... but they weren't. If she really wants to be in that area, I would recommend the townhomes/houses closer to the 288 and Beltway 8 intersection. I have friends that moved there after college. It's still not the best area but it's a decent starter if you don't have kids (the schools aren't great) but your daughter would be doing most of her shopping/entertainment in Pearland. Which begs the question, why doesn't she check out Pearland instead?

As a rule of thumb you should avoid any neighborhood or street mentioned in rap tunes.

My parents moved away from Crestmont (or Crestmont Park - I'm not sure which) when I was around three/four, to get away from the area. Let's just say that some time has gone by since then.

I barely remember the house, so I just went and looked in the MLS at those two, as well as South Park. It's sad to see so many houses still sitting there with major damage from Ike.
