Hi! I've been offered a job in Houston, and I need some help finding a safe neighboorhood and apartment complex. I'll most likely be shuffling back and forth between several locations in the Northwest Houston area, although I think most of my time will be spent in the Spring Branch area (off Sam Houston Pkwy and I-10).

I'm a single, white female in her mid-30s who does NOT like the party croud and prefers the quiet of suburbia to urban living. I'm looking for a 1 bedroom apartment and my absolute maximum budget would be $700 a month, although it would be a lot better if I could keep it between $600 to $650. I'd prefer something that won't be more than a 30 minute commute in rush hour. The main thing I'm looking for is a very safe, clean apartment in a safe neighboorhood. I would be willing to trade a longer commute for a safe(er) area and lower rent payment (if that makes a difference).

If anyone has any suggestions as far as zip codes/neighboorhoods/specific apartment complexes or even a recommendation for a good apartment locator service, I'd be quite grateful if you'd share them. I've tried looking around online, but the city is huge and if all one looks at is apartment rating sites all you see are horrid reviews, so I'm quite lost.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I would contact an apartment locator. Their services are free to you and will take out alot of the headache.

PM me if you want my locators name that I refer alot of people to.

Hope this one helps. Last time I checked, the rent was around $600. The area is good, walking distance to Memorial City Mall and other stores. It's in Spring Branch, close to I-10 and Beltway 8.
