Thanks very much for any suggestions.
Just wondering if you are looking for something that "accurately" reflects modern day Houston or do you want something nostalgic. Most of the suggestions above will propagate the stereotypes of Houston. You know, the cowboy saloon tumbleweed stereotypes. Haha.
And what part of the city do you live in, how far you willing to travel?

I just googled the Goode Company Armadillo Palace, and I think that's the place for sure. I think we may do that for our Pennsylvania family. Great suggestion!

One year I saw a Christmas card with the kids around a "snowman" made of sand at the beach in Galveston. You could build the snowman and put a bandana for the scarf and put a cowboy hat on top. You could even get a small Texas flag and have it in the background. Just a thought.

Well the OP asked for something that was Texas so I think they may be looking for something that lives up to the stereotypes that people expect to see - nothing wrong with that.

Didn't say there was anything wrong with it. Just asking for clarification so that we could help the OP. "Typically Texas or very Houstonian" could mean anything from NASA Space ctr or pasture of longhorns.
