I am a bit worried as i am not sure my husband will be able to find a job as he works as a teller and he is also a pharmacy technican. I would like to know what is the cost of living like in houstonAre theren good schools and colleges. I am also looking at North Carolina or Florida.

Not find a job?! There's a bank and pharmacy on EVERY corner. Sorry to be silly, but, seriously, finding a job in those fields will be a piece of cake.

I also considered NC, but never visited. After coming to Houston just once, I knew that this was it. The only other advice I have is to rent for 6-12 months before deciding where to buy. As you've probably read in some of the other forums, Houston is large and very spread out. It will take time to figure out which area is best for you.

Good luck!!

If you have children - you'll want a good school district. You might try Pearland for access to the medical center. For our smaller airport (Hobby) you could try Pearland or Clear Lake to be close and both have very schools. To be near the international airport (Bush) you might try Spring but it would be a bit longer commute to the medical center. Good schools in Spring, The Woodlands & Kingwood (all north side). If you don't have children - I would suggest renting in Midtown (outskirts of downtown) to get your bearings and figure out where you want to be living after you get to know the city a bit.

Universitys - 2 yr colleges - San Jacinto Community College, Houston Community College,
4 yr universitys - University of Houston (public), University of St. Thomas (private and pricey), Rice (private and pricier), Texas Southern University (a lot of financial problems),
