This is an awesome story. HCC District 2 voters elected a new trustee they assumed was black. Not really shocking considering this area is Texas Congressional District 18 and voters continue to put Sheila Jackson Lee in office.

White guy wins after leading voters to believe he

Comedy gold. Proves that the majority of black people vote solely based on race.

However that old white guy should watch his back for Obama's sons.

I think this was a great social experiment. He never said he was white or black, he just circulated materials the voters would find comfortable.

Reverse racism on the part of the loser Bruce Austin. White folks are racist when there is the slightest perception of color bias. However, blacks would have you believe it is totally OK for a black office holder to try and blame someone for not identifying his race.

I saw this story! Shame. Personally, I think this is sad on all accounts. It's because some people don't even know who represents them. It's sad that people don't also know what HCC trustees have been involved in. It's sad people vote simply based on external factors. I don't think anyone is excused when it comes to racism. It only proves people want someone who they think is like them and shares their experiences or views. This proves the majority of any group or division should takes steps to be aware.

President Obama took over 95% of the black vote in 2012, that should tell you how most blacks vote. People don't want to see it as racist, but it is.

If a black and white candidate squared off, and the black lost because 95% of whites voted for the white candidate, it would be okay to call it racism in our politically incorrect country. But if/when the black candidate gets the same votes, then YOU are racist for pointing it out.

This would be funnier if the state of Texas weren't still actively seeking to suppress the black vote through the voter id laws and gerrymandering. Maybe that's why black folks vote for black folks. And since when is political dishonesty ok in any way? Politics is not supposed to be about deception, it's supposed to be about transparency.
