Hi. I'm looking for an honest Subaru mechanic in the area. Anyone have a Subaru mechanic they trust?

Specifically, head gasket, is my suspicion. Would prefer a specialist on the west side, but knowing it's not a Subaru area, an honest specialist in any area in the Houston area is what I'm looking for.

Houston-imports.com has a good list. Or visit Carboy on bissonet. They have a good impressive shop. They did my clutch and timing belt. I'm sure there are more reputable shops in the same area

GOOD CARE AUTO, 6005 Wilcrest Dr Houston, TX 77042‎ (281) 879-5656, has kept my 16-year-old Jeep running well for all those years.

They're AAA and are so dedicated to saving the owner money by not doing unnecessary work that, at times, I've had to insist that I want certain preventative maintenance even if it's not absolutely necessary.

They're located on Wilcrest at the Westpark Tollway.

I second Carboys. They aren't the cheapest, but they do good work and fast. They won't make you wait half a day to make you think they've been working on your vehicle the entire time.

Like bmw said.

Be careful out there.

The first time we had the oil changed in ours, they mixed up the oil and transmission fluid. DH got across Stuebner Airline and the car stopped dead on the spot. Mine is a 2006. Outside of the dealer I don't think anybody in Houston had ever seen one. Now, we just go to the dealer on I 45 for scheduled stuff, nothing has ever been wrong. Louetta Automotive knows how to change the oil, now.

Jiffy Lube did the same thing to us. We now bring it to Gillman for service.

I know more DEALERS that screwed up other people's cars. The most recent one, they forgot to put oil on my co-worker's brand new BMW 335 then tried to repair the damages but kept lying to my coworker about some recall work they needed to work on for 2 weeks
