It's GLORIOUS!

I love this cold but damn I could do without the rain. Rain + cold = no bueno.

But honestly if the rain was the only way to keep it this cold the entire winter I'd deal with this rain every single day if the cold stayed consistent at least until mid January. As it is now sure it'll last this week but this time next Monday it'll be back 70 something

It is Houston so you know the chances are at least 80%

As others have said, the cold is fine as long as it isn't wet outside...or windy.

The thing is, Texas has just dove head first into winter weather, without the slow delay we usually have. So I wasn't even prepared for this.

I take the upper 60s we get this weekend. Now that is nice weather. Not this rainy, damp near freezing cold.

That's why you people should live in New Alexandria.

Yeah we do, although some native Texans can't take the heat either -- turnabout is fair play. I love our summer heat but have a very low tolerance for cold, damp weather. Its what you acclimate to. We have people come to our office from West Africa and if it is 80, they are wearing sweaters and jackets --- because they are acclimated to 120 degree summers with no a/c - they go outside to cool off. So a 40 degree drop in temps to 80 degrees is a whole lot cooler for them and yet warm and comfy for us.

The cold here feels totally different on a dry day versus a wet or high humidity day. On the damp days - the cold has a stinging bite to it from the dampness.

I don't mind the cold, but this rain is a bit much. One of our monarchs hatched, but we cannot release it in this cold and rain.

I guess I'm in the minority here when I say I like the cold and the damp weather. Cold and sunny has always felt like an oxymoron for me. Give me cold/damp so that when going indoors in warmth feel that much better. And then go outdoors with the crisp cold feel then rinse and repeat! Lol. I guess I'm a sickness waiting to happen.

Try working OUTSIDE in cold and wet weather. It takes forever to even get comfortable after you get into the house and change clothes.

Watch this be the only real cold snap we get this year.
