Depends on from where to where you are going?

Sorry. From Katy for i10, Richmond for the Tollway, or sugar land for 59. To downtown.

At 6am I would go with westpark tollway. Closer to 7am is a different story.

Thanks. Is i10 the worst of the three?

I leave around 6am and i10 main lanes get backed up around Westgreen, all the way until after Dairy Ashford and then it opens up and it's pretty fluid after that all the way into downtown. Not sure why it bottlenecks in that section. I take the HOV/tollway so I do not deal with that backup, and my commute is only about 35 mins.

I also take i10 around 6am, getting on at Mason. I can't carpool so I deal with the backup. I'm wondering if living in Richmond or Sugarland would have better traffic at that time of day.

Why not just leave earlier?

If you have to run the roads at that time then Westpark will be your best bet.

leaving 15 mins earlier makes a lot of difference. When I need to get to the office early, i'll leave at 5:30 and I can set my cruise all the way in.

I do 59 from Sugar Land to downtown and I can tell you that leaving before or after 7 am makes a huge difference, night and day. I actually go to the W Bellfort park and ride, and bus the rest of the way in. So, for example, if I leave at 6 am or 6:30 am (like this morning), I make it to downtown in less than 40 min. But if I don't drag my butt out of bed fast enough and don't get on the road until, say 7:15 am, it can take more than 50 min to an hour.
