Around midnight this morning I heard several very loud explosions with 1 or 2 minutes in between. They sounded like military grade weapons and I was not the only one to hear it. While I live off I-10, another friend of mine heard the same thing over I-45.

I was wondering if anybody knows what it was because there's no way that 2 people on opposite sides of Houston are the only ones that heard it. Does anybody know what it was?

My bad. I had about 4 Guinness drafts, followed that up with 8 taco loco tacos from Taco Bell and proceeded to Dunkin Doughnuts for two lemon filleds. While proceeding down 290, I rolled down my window in expectation of a horrible odor, but was literally blown away by the sound. I didn't realized it carried to both 10 and 45.

Side note, who replaces car windows for cheap?

Usually when something odd like that happens, the people that hear or see odd stuff like that call into their local radio or tv station. Sometimes it makes the news.

Where do you live? I routinely hear loud explosions in the Humble/Atascocita area. But There is a Harris County Fire Fighting training facility nearby which explains it. The Explosions as you stated occur in minute intervals and literally rock the neighborhood.

I'll never understand how we can live in a "pro-gun state" and everybody freaks out when they hear a gunshot.

Lol I'm not freaking out, I'm just pointing out that it was very loud, there's no way it could have been your average gun. If I freaked out with guns, I wouldn't have so many in my house.

Being "pro-gun" doesn't mean you expect to hear gunshots.
