I got the call from FBISD at 0518.

FBISD calendar doesn't have Presidents' Day as a Holiday. We will likely have to make this inclement weather day up on Good Friday.

How bad is it out there? I don't see anything even slightly treacherous but that's just looking out my front windows.

According to the news it is horrific out there. But even when I lived in Dallas which gets iced over several times a year they always made it to be 10 times worse than it is. How it really I imagine bridges are no fun and you are not getting over large over passes. Besides that it probably not bad.

im already downtown...been here since midnight last night because I work a shift schedule....this building is EMPTY and its 55 stories....the parking garage is ghost, looks like a Saturday or sunday, possibly due to the HOV lanes being closed and a number of people being directed off of freeways

we have about 80 people in my office, and only two people are here now....

Based upon the TranStar map, it looks like the roads are a mess with numerous accidents and road closures on pretty much all the major freeways. Oddly enough, I-10 west of the Loop seems the clearest.

How can you not have Feb 17th off? It's a federal holiday!

Yep. North Beltway at 249 accident thank God I didn't have to go in today. 249 to the Beltway is crazy during morning rush. There's always SOME accident right before the Beltway slowing everyone down.

Why the Loop is clear? All the stupid people coming from the suburbs going 'Hey! no one is on the road so let me cruise into work going 80 over ice" idiots. Yikes.

I meant why wasn't school out for a federal holiday in fort bend county schools. I wasn't talking about regular employers.
