At Champion Forest and 1960 in the Champions Village Shopping Center (Randals, Barnes and Nobles etc) there was World Market which is now at 249. Anyone knows what is coming in place of World Market in Champions Village Shopping Center?

Probably nothing. That center is slowly dying imo. Almost half the smaller stores are empty. I think that restaurant Campioni Restaurant on the corner is moving too.

The only center going strong in that whole stretch is across from it. Seems like all the stores want to be on Louretta now and that Vintage Park.

Campioni moved to the old County Line Restaurant building on Cutten. Don Ramon Mexican restaurant moved into the old Doneraki spot and seems to be doing well so far. Bed,Bath & Beyond opposite Willowbrook is also moving (or has moved) to near the new World Market spot. That seems a bit off the beaten path to me but it is close to Costco. Fingers Furniture is going out of business there so I do wonder about that location.

I hate Campioni! That is the only place where I felt I was discriminated!

Don't know how accurate this is, but had heard Golfsmith was going into the World Market Space. That said, I was told today the Randall's may be closing. Anyone else hear this?

There was a time when you could fire a cannon in that Randall's and not hit anybody. Traffic has picked up in the past year or so.

I had a neighbor who was the CFO at Weingarten Realty. He put his house on the market a couple of years ago to move to The Woodlands. It had a contract within a few weeks. The neighbors thought he gave it away. I wondered at the time what he knew.

There was also a time when ladies there dress to the 9s and wear fur coats to go grocery shopping there. I think some of the workers at that time wear white gloves back then. Those days are long gone.

I bought some steaks there about a year ago there and they smell funny when i open them. Never shop there again.

Regarding that center, World Market is always empty so i am surprised they last that long. That new location is surprising good traffic everytime i am there. I think lot of the people going up on 249 will stop there. Plus you got Costco across the street which makes all the difference. That fingers been "going out of business sale" for 2 years now i think.

The company who owns BB&B bought World Market.

Ipuck, although I did wear white kid gloves to Butera's grocery, I was thinking of about 3 years ago when Randalls' was always empty. There is a customer loyalty to HEB that Randall's will never be able to overcome. Folks will drive by a Randall's to go to an HEB .

Finger's is in Chapter 11. Willowbrook wanted them out.

Wow, I use to eat there a lot and I do tend to show disdain and sometimes outright hostility towards cast members of Full House.

I'm in a 12 step program now.

LMAO!

That strip is still going decently strong. I remember the Blockbuster that use to be where that pillow place is. Barnes and Noble is the holding ground. Palais Royal is still good. I don't see how Sun and Ski stays open but okay. Everything behind Palais Royal in that corner is dead pretty much because it's so hidden.

I don't and won't ever get James Avery. I'm a Christian but it's the same sterling silver and charms as anyplace else but WAY overpriced. I mean if they're donating all proceeds to a church then okay but I don't get it.
