We just moved out here and hoping to get a nice area to stay. We need advice on the cheapest rent and suitable environmebt for a young couple (early 30"s and a 2yr old boy) also with affordable school. We are low on cash. Thank you.

Uh....cheap for one is different for another. You need to give more than that.

What exactly is "low on cash" and what exactly is "cheap" to you?

Is a house worth $150k too expensive? Are you looking to spend $400-700 a month in rent?

Bear in mind that the cheapest areas are going to be the scariest. That's pretty universal.

I heard some projects are going up in the hip area East End!!! Why even move here if you have no money? This ain't the land of milk and honey like some people seem to think especially if don't know anyone and have no skills ......

What projects? Where? Your source of information? Please clarify...the East End covers a lot of area.

I'd probably be looking in the Greenspoint area.

Safe, but not the safest part of Houston & its affordable with "ok" schools.
