Okay so my "what will happen" question is a little incorrect. It makes me sound completely irresponsible. I'm only half-irresponsible.

When I received my ticket in Texas I went to the court and opted for defensive driving. I completed my defensive driving before the 90 day deadline was up but needed to renew my license to get a new dps audit number since I lost my old license but still had an older one I was carrying(but not yet expired).

I just got really busy after I received my new license and since I am not living at home I didn't know that the city had sent a letter saying I had a failure to appear and I had plead a no contest. Tomorrow is the 10th day from the notice which really sucks but I can print my driving record tomorrow and have my defensive driving certificate showing I completed the DD before the 90 day deadline given when I opted to do DD.

Will I be okay? I'm mainly worried that a warrant will show up on future background employment checks even though I'm going to take care of this tomorrow.

You are FULLY responsible, period...

They will issue a warrant for your arrest if they have not done so already.

Might want to contact the DPS or local municipality that issued the ticket and see what you need to do to get this taken care of since it is your fault.

May be a pricey option but a few hours of legal help may help.

They have probably already issued a warrant. Phone calls need to start happening to get this straightened out.

DPS website is a good place to start

Texas Department of Public Safety

A warrant is probably in the works for you.
